LEA & MARIA: LITTLE SISTERS IN BIG TROUBLE

LEA & MARIA: LITTLE SISTERS IN BIG TROUBLE

Posted on February 20, 2014

When visitors Lea and Anders arrived at BAWA’s Ubud shop in Jl Monkey Forest with two little abandoned puppies, our hearts went out to the sisters who had been so cruelly separated from their mother and thrown away on to the street.

They quickly became known as Lea and Maria and received big doses of love and attention from the rescuers, BAWA founder Janice Girardi and all BAWA staff in range. Unfortunately, poor little Maria has a very badly deformed front left leg which she cannot manoeuvre and which she simply drags along.

Everyone is hoping so much that x-rays will show that Maria is suffering only from a nutritional deficiency, which BAWA has great success in working with, and that she will not need an amputation. Her back left leg also is injured and we are still waiting for news.

The puppies are at Dr Budi’s clinic for observation and treatment. Unfortunately Dr Budi called to say that Maria’s sister Lea also has a

deformity or injury, so he must help her as well.

Whatever the outcome, we will soon need a very caring foster home and then a permanent home for these mistreated little siblings. In spite of them being abandoned, injured and in pain, they are so trusting, sweet and loving, kissing us and wagging their tails as best they can. Please contact info@balianimalwelfare.com or 0811-389-004 if you can help.

We have so many cases every day and need your help now, more than ever.

Please, if you would like to help, go to www.bawabali.com to make a monthly donation. That means you’ll have joined Friends of BAWA and become a real hero to BAWA and Bali’s animals. Every donation saves a life. Monthly donations save many, many lives that should never have been at risk.

Thank you.
