British BAWA supporters Sarah and Charlotte will be going that extra mile – or 13 miles to be precise – for Bali’s animals and to support BAWA.
Sarah and Charlotte will run the Bali Half Marathon on 16 June and have already been busy fundraising and gaining sponsorships. They’ve even set up their own Facebook fundraising page where you can sponsor them and find out more about why they are running for BAWA.

Sarah and Charlotte, who are both teaching English in Bali, decided to do something special after they saw the condition of many street dogs in Bali.
”During our time in Bali we have been overwhelmed by the beauty of the island, the laidback lifestyle and the friendliness of locals,” they said. “But sadly we have also been overwhelmed by the number of abandoned animals in the streets and the lack of education given to children about how to treat their animals and their environment.
“It is for this reason that we want to make a change before we leave this paradise. For us, it is paradise, but for the poor animals left to wander the streets without food or love, paradise is a million miles away.”
The girls have been training for the marathon almost every day and welcome any sponsorship from friends, family and other BAWA supporters.“Please help us to change the lives of Bali’s animals by sponsoring us to raise money for BAWA,” they said. “Any amount of money, no matter how small, can make a big difference!”
At the 16 June marathon, BAWA staff will be on hand throughout the day to ensure the course is kept safe for people and animals – and of course to cheer the runners on.
We never cease to be amazed at the lengths our supporters will go to help us save animals in Bali. From sponsorships and events to wish list collections, giving donations and more, all support helps us to save lives in Bali every day.
