It isn’t just Bali that has needy animals in Indonesia — many neighbouring islands are in desperate need of attention too. Last month, BAWA was invited to visit the island of Sumbawa to give a helping hand to animals in much need of care.
Our team arrived on Sumbawa Island, armed with expertise, medicine, vaccinations and a mobile sterilisation clinic – all to help the animals there.
The team headed to the south-west coast, an area of great need, high population and little veterinary care.
The BAWA team spent a week in Sumbawa and was able to spay/neuter a total of 103 dogs and provide skin and anti-parasitic treatments, for example, for more than 100 dogs.
BAWA thanks our incredible spay / neuter team, sponsored by the Bali Street Dog Fund in Australia, for working so hard on this important program.
Thank you to Dayna, Vicki and others in Sumbawa for sponsoring our visit and for all of your hard work to make this happen.
BAWA will continue to work towards its goal of promoting sterilisation and vaccination as the only solution to rabies control, a healthy dog population and a safe community. Thank you all for your amazing support!
