BAWA discovered Indy huddled in a mosquito-infested gutter, desperately guarding a deep and infected slash wound.
Without immediate intervention, her fate would have been sealed right there in the gutter.

We rushed her to a clinic, and what we found out was heart-wrenching – it was not apparent to us at first but the wound was deeper than any we had seen before. Not only that but she was also anaemic, dehydrated, tick-ridden, and battling blood parasites.

We were unsure if Indy could survive this life-threatening injury. Despite what must have been incredibly painful for her, she still wagged her tail and allowed us to hold and carry her. The vets said they think they can save her – so her treatment begins, and we are hopeful.

Currently, Indy is receiving essential treatment, including IV fluids, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics to alleviate her pain and jumpstart her post-op recovery.
